Friday Cat Blogging: While the Mouse is Away
As you may have guessed by now, I am a big fan of cat blogging in general and the idea that bloggers everywhere put their (often) acid-tongued commentary aside for a brief time every week to celebrate the wonderfulness of cats is, to me, extremely cool.
For those not familiar with this tradition (can you really call it that?), the Carnival of The Cats is the home of Friday Cat Blogging. Links to past carnivals, as well as the forward schedule can be found there.
Unfortunately, I find that I am not nearly disciplined enough to blog anything on a regular basis, let alone photographic evidence of the wonderfulness of the feline denizens of my humble abode.
On this particular Friday, however, I find myself at loose ends, having taken the entire day out of the office for an offsite meeting that ended up lasting all of 45 minutes. Said meeting having concluded at 10:45am, did I dutifully rush back into the city to spend the remainder of a glorious day hunched over a keyboard, sitting under bad flourescent lighting, fielding phone calls from annoying people?
No. That would be silly. Instead, I screamed home, rid myself of the Evil Suit and snuck up on the sleeping felines. In all their wonderfulness, of course. Of the five that inhabit my abode, two were kind enough not to actually hide from the camera. Better luck next time, I guess.
The Monster (above), found firmly ensconced smack in the middle of my bed, is clearly of the opinion that Fridays (or any day, for that matter) are for naps. He’s officially a geezer now, so I guess he’s entitled.
Sass, on the other hand, prefers more active mid-day pursuits. I think she was inspecting the drain to make sure there were no aliens lurking down the pipe. It was either that, or some form of feline communication with the mothership…
I would be a much happier woman if only her preferred pastimes didn’t leave me with little muddy kitty prints all over the bathroom counter.
